The first piece of furniture that I up-cycled (ever) was the bedside table. I then tackled the chest of drawers and wellington drawers. I put off the wardrobe for a while, scared to change such a big piece. However, the results were fantastic!
The next couple of pieces happened almost by accident. I had a very old stool, which had been given to me by my parents. I felt quite attached to the stool, but it was so old and dirty. I decided to give re-upholstering a go. I chose a piece of lilac fabric from the c&h remnants table and ordered some new foam from an online store. I also painted the stool in the same paint as the rest of the bedroom furniture. Here it is, before and after:
After re-upholstering the stool, I had lots of the lilac material left and used this as a basis to decorate the room. I made two cushion covers and two curtain ties from the left over material. I also took the material to B&Q and colour matched it to create paint for a feature wall. We have now also put a cream carpet in the room. It is a completely different room. I absolutely love being in there now, relaxing and sleeping.
Since taking this picture, we also now have a new cream super-king size bed. Let me know what you think and dont forget to visit the website to see full before and after photos of all my projects.
